Elysian Valley Visioning Summit summary

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Elysian Valley Visioning Summit.

Here's a recap of the participants' results.

Who are we?
  • Geography: Close to downtown, river, nature, green space, transportation. Also, secluded and isolated
  • Demography/People: Multi-generational, neighborly, artists and craftspeople, diversity and tolerance, activists
  • History: Architecture, paths that brought people to Elysian Valley (e.g. Chavez Ravine, Chinatown, freeway)
  • Institutions: Rec Center, schools, groups, churches, organizations
  • Economy: Affordability, crafts, home enterprises, art, light industrial, mixed use

Neighborhood and Economic Development

  • Grocery store and shopping
  • Farmer's Market
  • Re-use of Franky and Johnny's and the Public Storage property
  • Enterprise district
Transportation and Linkages
